GOLDEN TRASH | |||||
“Golden Trash” deals with the extreme lifestyles of icons and idols, those “undead” heroes who live on through idealisation. However, instead of focusing on the biographies of these figures it portrays their transformation – their successive physical disappearance as their legends emerge. Together with the dancers of the MD Kollektiv, Georg Reischl has developed an energetic work of choreography presented on Cécile Martin’s stage construction, a space that allows for unusual possibilities of perception, and with music played by belgian cello player Arne Deforce and pianist Vittoria Quartararo. Michael Maurissens and Douglas Bateman, dancers from Amanda Miller’s former company pretty ugly dance köln, founded the collective in Cologne in 2009 – and remained open for new artistic constellations and companions. They have realised numerous productions with the choreographer Georg Reischl. |
