The first few lines of the Old Testament provided the inspiration for Emanuele Soavi and Susanne Linke’s joint movement study on order, structure and chaos. The principle of the “golden ratio”, the formula for obtaining ideal aesthetic proportions, serves as the jumping-off point for this solo performance. With a building sense of urgent intensity, the artistic duo generate surreal moments of clarity. Accompanied by compositions based on themes by Johann Sebastian Bach, interpreted by Thomas Wansing on the grand piano, this production succeeds in finding a “consistent path to freedom, to awareness.” (Melanie Suchy, Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger) After training at Balletto di Toscana in Florence and Aterballetto Reggio Emilia, Emanuele Soavi served in the ensembles of several dance and ballet companies. He has worked as a freelance choreographer since 2006, and he founded his own label in 2012. Susanne Linke received her education from Mary Wigman in Berlin and at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen. She began developing her first choreographic compositions as a dancer at the Folkwang Dance Studio under the direction of Pina Bausch. Since 1985 she has worked as a freelance choreographer and dancer worldwide. In 2010 she was granted the title of professor at the Folkwang University of the Arts. |
