| With an old-fashioned, glittery wool jumper and a bizarre pair of glasses, Marion Dieterle portrays a character that seems to be a cross between a governess and a grandmother. She nestles into spaces, crams her body between objects and wriggles introspectively through landscapes of clustered items. The protagonist is perceptibly torn between her desire to stay and her urge to move on. “Moving Home” creates a peculiar sense of artificiality, transforming big things into little ones and inscrutable concepts into harmless notions – while leaving us to ponder how we really want to live. The Cologne-based choreographer and dancer Marion Dieterle studied contemporary dance and performance at ArtEZ Institute of the Arts Arnheim. Since 2006 she has produced her own works of choreography under the label DOSSIER 3-D-Poetry. |
