With “Time for Us”, Fabien Prioville and his wife Azusa Seyama present their first collaborative production. The choreography focuses on the way two people experience the moment they meet. It is a search for the significance of this moment, an exploration of community, common ground and the relationship of two dancers onstage. The two protagonists are not only connected through their personal relationship, but also share many years of experience as dancers at Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch, where Azusa Seyama is an ensemble member. Their radical search for closeness, for what it is that unites them and divides them, is – as ever – a confrontation with their own history.
Fabien Prioville danced with Canadian choreographer Édouard Lock’s La La La Human Steps and for Philipp Blanchard in Sweden before joining the Tanztheater Wuppertal ensemble in 1999. Since 2006 he develops his own works of choreography and collaborated on projects with artists such as Josef Nadj and Davis Freeman.
