Morgan Nardi
Morgan Nardi

True or not true? Düsseldorf choreographer Morgan Nardi plays with deception in this one man show, confusing the audience with a steady stream of new biographical versions and perspectives on a biography. He describes his artistical career in a self-deprecating manner, staging truths and lies. Once spoken, following Derrida, the lie becomes “an independent fact, a reality“. Morgan Nardi weaves a web of truth and fiction, questioning the oft-stipulated authentic presentation of the self of an artist in a humourous, albeit profound way. Within this many-faceted mesh of seduction and confusion, he defends the right to lie and breaks the moral obligation to the truth.
“A one m(org)an show is full of of a comedic joy of playing, humorous and not shying away from taboos.“ Rheinische Post

Morgan Nardi studied classical and modern dance in Florence, Milan and Cannes. After stints abroad, he was a member of the ensemble of NEUER TANZ in Düsseldorf from 1995 until 1998. In 2001, he founded the collective Ludica. with media artist Naoko Tanaka. Self-contained productions as well as mutually developed projects in which choreography and visual arts form a close bond are hallmarks of their work.
