The classic duet of a man and a woman. Five years ago, Bonn-based company CocoonDance proved that the old topic may still yield new and surprising sides with their successful production “Lovers and other Strangers“. With “another you“, they make the leap into the present, working yet again with the same man-woman-constellation.
Then, they were tangled in a highly emotional conflict; now, five years later, it appears that all games have been played, and nearness, intensity, and love have been used up. The new play begins where a relationship usually ends. They open up a new game, declaring themselves as well as their relationship an experiment, a work of art. What remains is the quest for the other, the “another you“.

CocoonDance Company was founded by choreographer Rafaële Giovanola and dramaturge Rainald Endraß in the year 2000. Born in Baltimore/ USA, Swiss dancer Giovanola spent eight years working at the Frankfurt Ballett under William Forsythe and was a longstanding member of Pavel Mikuláštik’s Choreographical Theatre in Fribourg and Bonn. Since 2004, CocoonDance Company has been playing at the theaterimballsaal, where the company also guides the dance sector. They are among the four companies that have been chosen for the Spitzenförderung in NRW.
