“Who am I? Who knows?“ To Antje Pfundtner, questions about identity always constitute a communicational act. In her performance, she tackles this question with a lot of irony. She explores the essence of the art, the essence of dancing, especially solo dancing, studying its laws and means of narration. She devotes her effort to finding an answer to the question whether the supposed intimacy inherent in solo dancing is a mere strategy used to gain the audience as accomplices. In “TIM ACY“, Antje Pfundtner investigates the agents of self-representation while wagering on the readability of her person. A dazzling portrayal stands to be revealed, nourished by the expectant gaze of the audience.
“She develops her art from the tension that arises from differing realities; it shows the actions of an artist who has not lost faith in the particular powers of dance and theatre while still reflecting critically on their respective mechanisms, newly negotiating their ages-old language of poetry and magic by means of a contemporary artistic strategy.“ Irmela Kästner

Antje Pfundtner received her education at the Amsterdamse Hogeschool voor de Kunsten. As a dancer, she worked, among others, with Michele Anne de Mey, Marcelo Evelin, Tony Vezich and David Hernandez. In the meantime, she has also begun touring successfully with her own solo and group works on stages around the globe. Apart from diverse cooperational projects and commissioned works, Antje Pfundtner also regularly holds workshops on an international scale.
