As soon as you are asking what the future might hold, even if it's thoroughly planned, you will always find one answer only: On verra (We'll see). Modern and virtual life paints reality over, but the facts remain. Too often still, man finds himself alone - with his dog, between his illusions and shattered visions.
So there we encounter the person always carrying his or her own rain, regardless of where he or she might venture, then there is the tender, kitschy figure looking for a mate to bestow her heart upon, there is youth, so full of vitality and hope, watching the world and learning to survive, and finally, there is the dog, who, perhaps, knows more than we think it does, and maybe that's why it's not saying anything...
Jean Laurent Sasportes was born in Casablanca and first studied mathematics and philosophy in Marseilles before taking up dancing at the age of 23. He was a soloist at Pina Bausch's Wuppertal Tanztheater from 1979 until 1996. From then on, he has been working as a guest soloist, creating choreographies and stagings and founded the company Café Ada Tanztheater in 2007.
