CLAUDIA LICHTBLAU ARKTISCHES TRIPTYCHON
CLAUDIA LICHTBLAU
ARKTISCHES TRIPTYCHON
Camera work for two opersons
blank
Claudia Lichtblau's cinematically performative camera work focusses on two persons in one room, orbiting around their relationship, their mutual projections and their game of being and seeming.
"Claudia Lichtblau demonstrates a talent for dissecting observation even in virtuality, a sense of the moment and a consistent understanding of space. ... Concentrated, pure and with minimal gesture, she creates images at the interface between abstraction and lurking instinct in her extraordinary stagings: sparks , opening new spaces in thought." Irmela Kaestner / tanzjournal

Claudia Lichtblau first studied dance at the Folkwang Hochschule Essen and, among others, was a dancer and choreographer at the Folkwang Tanzstudio, where her ongoing artistic collaboration with dancer Matthias Hartmann began. She has been staging her own works since 1990, works she sees as thinking in body, mostly in abandoned factory halls. In this manner, her cycle of now sixteen works "Zyklus/ Zeche" was conceived and carried out on the premises of the Zeche Zollverein in Essen. Additionally, she created numerous commisioned works, some of them abroad.
