Digital Stage

Due to the challenging production conditions in the past years, a great variety of works for virtual space were created alongside excellent stage productions. This is where we would like to pick up with our new format “Digital Stage”, starting with the 2023 festival edition. In addition to the stage productions, almost 20 digital works will be shown on the festival online platform. In addition to the livestreams of the festival opening and our exchange format “Digital Corporealities”, they will be available on demand from 4 to 14 May 2023.

Besides, four companies scheduled for the stage programme are to produce film versions of their respective pieces with film-makers Cecilia Gläsker and Julia Franken. With the digital stage programme featuring artistic dance films, dance clips, documentaries and portraits, the festival provides an even more comprehensive view of the NRW dance scene and the developments of recent years. This offers the opportunity to experience dance from NRW even at a distance. In addition, the digital stage offers better accessibility as some of the works shown come with subtitles or are translated into German Sign Language (DGS).

The new format "Digital Stage" is funded by Kunststiftung NRW.
