My name is Chantal, I‘m 14 years old and I‘m from Düsseldorf. My family tree can be traced back to the 14th century. Actually, my family has claims to the English throne but we never followed up on that.
Everybody has his personal past. Stories and images inscribe themselves and become part of what we are. How far are we self-determined in what we embody? Eight young women unravel a net of signs, traces, and questions in “ich geschichtet”. At the same time, they create new identities and unveil their thoughts on younger and older generations. With dance, music, texts and projections, the performers layer events and narratives that moved people in the past decades unto each other. Was it really better during the old days?
