IN-JUNG JUN / Blue Elephant Company
SOLO PARTY

"It seemed as if you saw In-Jung Jun still dancing in your fantasy - a precious moment during this evening, proving the intense effect dance is able to unfold." Nicole Strecker, WDR
In "Solo Party", Düsseldorf choreographer In-Jung Jun invites the audience to visit her at home: the stage. In-Jung Jun moves about amidst the audience, in the middle between public and private spaces, between intimacy and isolation. She plays about with different versions of herself, revealing herself, only to revise or ridicule at the next instant. The interaction with live musician Simon Rummel allows for a concertant texture which values rests as well as the musical movement and dance. It is a meditation on dialogue. And it is also great fun.
Seoul-born In-Jung Jun studied ballet as well as contemporary and traditional dance. She has been living in Germany since 2000 and in her Blue Elephant Company, she coooperates with a number of different artists. Musician and visual artist Simon Rummel leads chamber ensemble Fantasmofonika and is the Improviser in Residence of the city of Moers since February 2009.
