MOON SONG

"Moon Song" is pondering two questions: How can we succeed in fitting in? How can we succeed in being something? Poetically, emphatically, the play looks into the current everyday change in Europe and the effects it has on people's lifes. Apart from the big dramatic, proclaimed revolutions, it focuses on all the little changes in everyday life and human relations, in music, in eating habits, in our way of being, which we have to exchange with different consequences. A Turkish tenor, a South Korean dancer and a Scottish dancer are looking for their shared path.
Mark Sieczkarek was born in Scotland and studied at the Royal Ballet School in London. This was followed up by engagements with Scapino Ballet in Amsterdam and Penta Theater in Rotterdam, before changing to Pina Bausch's Wuppertal Tanztheater in 1985. He went out on his own in 1988 and founded his own Mark Sieczkarek Company.
