BLIND QUESTIONS: I SEE YOU ME NEITHER
The examination of love is ancient, so that love itself seems hopelessly outdated, even though everybody's talking about love all of the time, in every talk show, blog, chat , yet still science tries to decipher love's biological, chemical and neuronal structure. According to Roland Barthes, outmoded, devalued and derided love can only remain as an affirmative space. The answer proposed by MOUVOIR is a performance between surreal film and live situations in an area where theatre, dance and singing meet. Love prepares to be examined in variations both formal and emotional. The intricacy of love's reality is being ironized, reflected upon and opens up the possibility to view previous occurences from a different perspective.
Stephanie Thiersch first studied classical and contemporary dance (CNC Montpellier, Dominique Bagouet), before completing her degree of the humanities and post-graduate studies in the area of medial arts at the Kunsthochschule für Medien in Cologne. She has been developing stagings, films and installations wirth her company MOUVOIR since 1997. These works with their cinematographical aesthetics were and are being shown on international stages and at festivals.
