With her vocabulary of movement, Julia Riera once again tests limits and boundaries with insightful delicacy in “MIRA7_THULEY”. Five performers – three professional dancers and two young dance enthusiasts from Afghanistan – make feelings of foreignness and isolation palpable as they embody the inner turmoil inherent in the simultaneous desire for and fear of calm and closeness. "Rarely may an audience experience such a sophisticated dialogue at eye level between dance and music. It is a very expressive work, which gives the spectators a special experience of a performance that portrays the archaic depth of human movement," Thomas Linden describes the choreography in Kölnische Rundschau.

Since 2009 Julia Riera has been working under the label MIRA with artists from other genres, such as the composer Philip Mancarella. With the production "MIRA 5" she won the prize "Best Duo" at the SoloDuo Festival in Cologne in 2017. In 2018 "MIRA 7_THULEY" was awarded the Kölner Tanzpreis.
