DER ANGRIFF DER KILLERGITARREN
bodytalk Killergitarren WofgangWehlau
.
Dancer and choreographer Yoshiko Waki founded her own company bodytalk in 2008 in collaboration with former colleagues from the Choreographical Theatre of Johann Kresnik. Her choreographical signature is challenging, loud and uncomfortable, as is her play “Attack of the killer guitars“, as seen from theperspective of dance critic Melanie Suchy: “These four women do not belong anywhere. No, they belong to their nest, so much so that they can only dream of escape and wish for the ‘attack of the killer guitars‘ at the same time. Of course, they have to set the stage for that themselves, or else nothing‘s gonna happen and nothing‘s on. So, one plucks and strums, her colleagues are rockin‘ out their throats. Come On, Baby. It is fitting that they should fall out of time like they do not belong to any place. They claim to be the centre of the world and show their navels. They dance unbashfully, wearing their shoes on their hands, popping packaging foil blisters: ‘And I‘m far, far awahay, with my head up in the sky‘, they sing while drowning their heads in bowls of water.‘
