In the durational performance “Hark!”, where the audience members themselves decide how long they choose to dwell, baroque music takes centre stage. The artists Luísa Saraiva & Gökçe Oğultekin have created a sound experience that enables audiences to immerse themselves in the music: we hear what we see and see what we hear. Together with musicians Peter Rubel and Nathan Bontrager, they build a bridge between singing bodies and the audience. The singing leaves traces in the space, traces of sonorous bodies. “Hark! – Listen!” The baroque works “Hail! Bright Cecilia” by Henry Purcell and “Libretto” by Nicholas Brady aid this quest for an acoustic body that hears, receives, reverberates and echoes.
