It is hard to find a definition of the urban dance style krumping that doesn’t label it “aggressive”. Is krumping the dance version of picking a fight? What appears aggressive is in fact the dancers’ way of expressing what they are feeling at that moment. Rage, love, fear, desire – each movement tells a story. Directly and full of emotional force. On stage, six performers convene, each driven by a need to tell something which cannot be expressed in words. Their stories are highly energetic, fast-paced, expressive and told with every fibre of their bodies. With “DRANG”, Renegade – under the artistic direction of Malou Airaudo – offers audiences a new perspective on this urban hip-hop dance style.
