With “Cultural Drag”, TachoTinta declares life a show: it is not about what you are, but rather, what you can become! This drag show of cultural identities is a game of positive insecurities, cultural misunderstandings and glamorous exaggeration. For this, the performers draw from their own experience: they all know what it’s like when assumptions about culture, identity and transculturality are laced with prejudice. In this colourful and thought-provoking production, they play around with the concept of “stereotyping oneself”. The result is a subversive strategy for dealing with expectations, ascriptions and the judgements of others.
