Jarring, vivid and acoustically epic – “Bilderschlachten / Batailles d’Images” delivers on the promise its title makes. For this work, choreographer Stephanie Thiersch and composer Brigitta Muntendorf have once again joined forces. Together with eight dancers, the Asasello Quartet and the Les Siècles Orchester, they induce a state of visual and acoustic overload. The result: an interdisciplinary, cross-border performance in which movement and sound effortlessly blend together. A ballet for the end of the world, a ballet noir that takes an unbridled ride through cultural history and holds up a mirror to the exorbitance of our civilisation.
