tanz.backstage

takes a look behind the scenes: How do dance professionals work together and how is a choreography created? Together we will visit a rehearsal of a production presented in the festival programme, gain exciting insights into the working processes of artists and experience first-hand what happens in the days shortly before the performance.

Physical Introduction

invites the audience to become active themselves right before the start of the performance. The dance teacher Anja Bornšek leads simple body exercises for about 45 minutes, which loosen the joints, awaken the senses and raise awareness for the upcoming performance. Previous knowledge is not necessary - just join in and have fun! The format developed in the mast module MA CoDE at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Frankfurt/M. gives impulses to trust your own perception.

Physical Traces

offers audience members directly after the performance the chance to get their own bodies moving again. Images and memory traces of the choreography just seen are reactivated through perception and body exercises. Guided by dance teacher Anja Bornšek, "Physical Traces" lasts about 30 minutes and is easily accessible even without prior knowledge.
