"Ariodante" paints a tableau between sarcasm and resistance, the piece rebels against the aesthetics of the indefinite and mocks itself over all the tacit knowledge with which contemporary dance foggles itself”, the dance scientist Franz Anton Cramer describes the first full-length piece by Marie-Lena Kaiser. In a humorous way, the performers deal with the artistic creative process and question their own role repeatedly. The search, which in part raises more questions than offers answers, develops into the permanent state of the piece.

The Essen-based choreographer Marie-Lena Kaiser completed her studies at the Folkwang University of the Arts in 2016 and has since worked as a freelance choreographer and performer. In 2018 she received the Pina Bausch Fellowship for Dance and Choreography and worked with the Mozambican dancer and choreographer Horácio Macuácua as part of the scholarship.
