SZU-WEI WU
CERNES
SzuWeiWu Cernes LenaHedermann
.
In her play “Cernes“, Szu-Wei Wu provokes an encounter between two of Pina Bausch‘s dancers and a break dancer, trying to find out how those different bodies may come to speak the same language. What defines us, what are our boundaries or how far will we still be able to go? Those are questions Szu-Wei Wu asks herself in her feature-length debut. Szu-Wei Wu studied dance and choreography at the Folkwang University Essen and dances in the Renegade productions “Irgendwo / Somewhere“ and “Der verlorene Drache / The lost dragon“. There, she already got to know and appreciate the differences in approach and perspective brought in by street dancers and modern dancers.
