THE HAPPY LIVING TRILOGY
Mouvoir HappyLivingT TomTrambow
.
Stephanie Thiersch gets to the bottom of our lives‘ happiness in three independently staged choreographies: How far are we determined by origin, our lives with nature and our visions of the future? For this, one intimate solo, “White Landing“, throws a glance at childhood. The duo “Nature Morte“ searches for a human way of existence between domestication and brutalisation, and the closing trio “Near Miss“ shows our futures in the form of engrossed, detached hybrid creatures. During the course of those three episodes, a touching scenario unfolds, where layer after layer of everyday behaviour and acquired communication is laid bare to expose the emotional core of our happiness.

MITUMBA – A HAPPENING
MOUVOIR Mitumba UrsulaKaufmann
.
The audience finds itself within a typical African flea market situation. People buy and sell, cloth sculptures and mysterious figures arise, you may try on things, clothes tell their stories and design new ones. Trade is flourishing. For the Mitumba collective, made up of choreographers and dancers from Kenia, Uganda, Tanzania, Germany, Spain and France, the USA and Taiwan, global circulation of second hand clothing forms the concrete starting point of it‘s artistical research. In the global bazaar, topics like the mechanisms of trade and the effects of seemingly infinite mobility are dealt with. The chosen form is a happening made of dance, music and acting, and each member of the audience is always part of the whole, however big or small. Donations of clothes are very much welcome.
